Call Mama at 7pm
At a time, on a date, or every Monday. Times you set follow your phone when you travel, and quiet hours never move them.
Beacon by Novacraft
A reminders app for iPhone and Android that speaks up when you can actually act: as you reach the market, leave home, join Wi-Fi, when the light comes back, or as a deadline closes in.
Coming to the App Store and Google Play. Works without an account.
Five ways a reminder fires
Every Beacon reminder carries a signal: the thing that has to happen before it speaks up. Pick one, or stack a few on the same task.

Places
Wi-Fi and mobile data
Losing Wi-Fi never counts as leaving.
On iPhone, Wi-Fi reminders run through a one-time Shortcuts automation that Beacon walks you through.
Deadlines that get louder
Give a task the moment it can’t be done after, like a return window or a form that closes on Friday. As the window narrows, Beacon speaks up again, a little louder each time. Mark it Can’t miss and the last call is an alarm.
Missed one anyway? Beacon asks the next morning: did it anyway, extend, or let go. Nothing is deleted without you.
List briefs
Tie a signal to a list, and Beacon sends one brief instead of six pings: every item, what it costs and how long it takes. A morning and evening brief tell you what’s due before the day gets away.
Good morning. 4 things today, ₦7,500 all in.
2 things expire this week. One is Can’t miss.

Shopping and costs
Shopping lists sort themselves by aisle and keep quantities next to each item. Tick things off and they drop into “In the basket” while the total keeps count. Next week, buy again with one tap.

Fits now
Tell Beacon the time and money you have right now. It shows the tasks that fit, soonest deadline first, and quietly sets the rest aside. Pro
3 of 6 fit right now
Shared lists
Share a list with the house. Anyone can claim an item, and their initials go on it, so two people don’t buy the same detergent. Turn on nearest-person alerts and Beacon pings whoever is closest to the shop.
One shared list is free. Sharing needs an account; everything else doesn’t.

Brain dump
Type everything on your mind in one go. Beacon tears it into separate tasks, with the places, deadlines and Wi-Fi signals it can see, for you to check before anything is saved. Pro
Brain dump needs an account and asks first. The text goes to Beacon’s server, which drafts the tasks with Anthropic’s Claude. We don’t keep the text.
Bring your stuff
Move in from the apps you already use. Titles, due dates and lists come across, and Beacon tells you what didn’t.

Beacon on the web
On the web
Still from your phone
A browser can’t watch your location or your Wi-Fi in the background, so the phone keeps that job.
Free and Pro
Every feature is on for 14 days from install. After that, Free keeps the essentials, and anything beyond it pauses with a clear label instead of disappearing. Pro is a monthly, yearly or one-time purchase, priced in your currency in the app.
Tap a tag to turn it over. Drag it to give it a swing.
Questions
No, and it doesn’t pretend to. “Light is back” is a button you tap, from a Quick Settings tile, a widget, Control Center or Siri. The tap sends the list you tied to it as one brief.
No. Beacon works fully on your phone without one. An account is optional and only needed to sync between devices, share a list or use brain dump.
Usually one to five minutes after you cross the circle. Your phone decides when to wake Beacon to save battery, and Beacon shows you when an alert came late so you can see it working honestly.
Beacon uses the phone’s own geofencing, the same system maps and delivery apps use. It doesn’t track you continuously, and visits stay on the phone.
Yes, for planning, lists and sharing. Place and Wi-Fi reminders still fire from your phone, because a browser can’t watch your location or your network in the background.
